LaToya Benjamin is the founder of 3WayStrategies LLC, a social impact consulting firm designed to connect corporate value to social outcomes.
She currently serves as the Director of Economic Development within the New York State Legislature. For over four years, Ms. Benjamin has
been responsible for compiling & analyzing economic, demographic, industry, & occupational data; conducting industry cluster & economic impact analyses, asset mapping; & other research using economics-based statistical techniques to support state policies and nationwide initiatives. Most noted for her role in leading the development of dynamic coalitions around strategic projects like the redevelopment of John F. Kennedy International Airport and Black Wealth 2020, she is also responsible for organizing legislative, banking and minority and women owned business enterprise initiatives within legislative bodies across the country.
Her tack record to plan and implement innovative agendas has proven to build trust within the public sector with impactful results. Possessing over 10 years of professional experience—Ms. Benjamin is passionate about driving change through innovation, cross sector partnerships and corporate advocacy.
Prior to this role, Ms. Benjamin worked for the Office of Public Engagement at the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office. A graduate of New York City public schools, Ms. Benjamin attended Queensborough Community College where she received an associate’s degree in Liberal Arts and Science, John Jay College of Criminal Justice where she received a bachelor’s degree in Public Administration and Brooklyn College where she received a master’s degree in Urban Policy and Administration. She is also the Vice President elect to the Planning and the Black Community Division of the American Planning Association New York Metro Chapter.
