The movers and shakers of economic development in Thomaston/Upson were hosted by Upson EMC, Wednesday for a day-long session facilitated by consultant Mike Grella of White Plains, New York--retained by the Upson county board of commissioners and the EMC board. In March of 2012 he was hired by Amazon to build and lead its global economic team from the ground up in Seattle. In an interview with 101 News, Mike told us he wanted to get the IDA, city and county officials, and the EMC board in one room to concentrate on economic development from A-to-Z. The meeting included two other consultants on Zoom, marketing expert Daniel Neidorf and Carl Nelson, a site selection guru.
